Casual Outfit of the Day - A Stay-at-Home Mom's Reward

About the Casual Outfit


Riding boots are must-haves in Seattle. They are sleek, comfy, and look so right with jeggings.

I styled this entire outfit around my new boots, including the necklace. For some reason, simplicity worked magic for this simple, easygoing ensemble. 


About the Day


During lunch with a fellow mom, we commiserated on how hard it is to be a stay-at-home parent. I know some of you may not believe me, but being a caretaker 24-7 is truly the hardest and most under-appreciated job I have ever had loved.

While most people reward themselves with objects, I reward myself with "me time" -- you know, those moments in life you can just relax, and spend time doing what you want. 

On that day, my husband rewarded me with "me time" by taking the kids. I had two whole hours, and they flew by in lightning speed.

  24. Time is the greatest luxury, so taking a time to read a 400 novel is something I do to reward myself:) Now that I think of it, I usually reward myself with books, mostly literature but I'm an avid reader. Right now I'm finishing Tender is the Night.

    I also want to reward myself with a painting I have fallen in love with, but finding the funds to purchase it will be a bit of a challenge.

    Now about the outfit. I really like the boots but what seals the deal for me is that necklace. It is stunning! and only 15 dollars, what a great find.

    Great outfit. I like leggings but haven't worn them on their own yet (I usually wear them under a skirt) but I think I might be comfortable with something like what you're wearing, a longer sweater over it.

    All together it is really a chic combination.

  25. Btw we see eye to eye about parenting...I mean I agree with what you have written about parenting. It is mind blowing how much energy and effort it takes to bring the children up the right way and no one seems to understand it. I don't have children but I have some teaching experience (working with kids) so I've a pretty good idea what I'm talking about.
